Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai, The Panavision Aug 15 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo 20th Century Fox US 70mm release unconfirmed. Title is listed in Dolby’s records and the book “Wide Screen Movies.”  AKA: “Buckaroo Banzai’ & ‘The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Dimension.”
Amadeus Panavision Sept 19 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo Orion One of only a few films of the Dolby era to prominently promote “70mm Dolby Stereo,” rather than simply “Dolby Stereo,” on the one-sheet posters, trailers and artwork section of newspaper ads.
Bear, The Spherical (1.85:1) Sept 28 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo Embassy OAR blow-up. This was the film about coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, not to be confused with the Jean-Jacques Annaud animal film of the same title from 1988/89.

Greystoke: The Legend Of Tarzan, Lord Of The Apes Super 35 Mar 30 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo Warner Bros. This was the first feature-length Super 35 production (aka ‘Super Techniscope’ & ‘System 35’) to be blown up to 70mm in a full-width ratio. Just over a dozen 70mm prints struck (reportedly off the original negative for exceptional image quality).  70mm trailers: “Once Upon A Time In America” & “Gremlins.”
Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom Panavision May 23 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo (SS) Paramount 240+ 70mm prints (the most ever produced for a single release). 70mm trailer: “Rhinestone”

Metropolis (Re-Issue) Spherical (1.33:1) Aug 3 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo Cinecom OAR release. This re-issue was reduced from 120 to 87 minutes, and included color-tinted scenes and a Georgio Moroder rock music score. US 70mm release unconfirmed.
