Die Hard Panavision July 15 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo 20th Century Fox Opened in a limited 70mm-exclusive run on July 15.  Advertised in advance of release as, “Exclusive Engagement -- 70mm Six-Track Dolby Stereo -- On July 15...An adventure that will blow you through the back wall of the theatre.”  Nationwide 35mm release followed one week later.  Trivia: Prints (both 35 & 70) featured a “flat” Fox logo stretched-out to “scope” proportions (the DVD does not reflect this). 70mm trailers: “Alien Nation,” “Young Guns,” “Moon Over Parador” & “Twins”
Gorillas In The Mist Spherical (1.85:1) Sept 23 (USA) 6-Track Dolby Stereo Universal OAR blow-up.   AKA: “Gorillas In The Mist: The Adventure Of Dian Fossey.”

Pathfinder Panavision Sept 23 (UK) 6-Track Dolby Stereo Norsk/IFEX Reportedly screened in 70mm at the 1988 Seattle Film Festival. Originally released in Norway (as “Ofelas”) in 1987. Advertised as “The first Scandinavian film made in 70mm Panavision and Dolby Six-Track Stereo.”
