Tom March, Larry Smith arrived in Dayton, Ohio, to accompany John Harvey to Bradford’s Widescreen Weekend. Larry will be interviewing John at a Screen Talk at 16:30 on Saturday. They left around 14:00 on Wednesday for their international flight to the UK which arrives in Leeds 10:00 on Thursday. John is very excited to be returning to Bradford for the first time since March 1993 when he arrived to work with Willem Bouwmeester and the Museum staff to begin the final installation of the Cinerama equipment in Bradford. On June 16, 1993, Cinerama rolled again for the fist time in 21 years at a public performance in Pictureville, as a part of the tenth anniversary of the Museum | | During the Screen Talk, John will be sharing his remembrances of his life with Cinerama. He particularly remembers the evening of August 29, 1996, when film buffs from across the world lined up for the first showing of "This is Cinerama". This was the first time it had been publically shown in America in over 32 years. After the show, the audience joined John and Larry outside the Neon Theater to toast Fred Waller. For three and a half years the New Neon Theater hosted patrons from 38 states and 11 countries. | Cinerama Afterglow - A Get Together in Dayton | | | Go: back - top - back issues - news index Updated 17-12-11 | |
