The UK 7OMM “Hateful 8” Roadshow goes to Edinburgh

The UK 70mm Roadshow marches on from the Odeon Leicester Square Cinema in London to the Filmhouse Cinema in Edinburgh, the 2nd venue to screen this highly anticipated “70mm Roadshow” screening for Scotland.

The Cinema opened on the release date (8th January 2016) a DCP version, but most were awaiting for the “70mm Roadshow” and on the 12th February it opened to record sell outs for the first week and still maintaining above average sells that it has been given more screenings for the last weekend.

By the time your correspondent had visited this Cinema on Tuesday 23rd February well over 3,000 had seen the 70mm Roadshow presentation.

The unseen star’s of this “Roadshow Presentation” is Kenneth and Sid the two named Philips DP70’s Projectors in Cinema One projection room who are loving cared by the Cinema Projection team who on every screening have skilfully presented a perfect “Roadshow” experience as part of David Boyd (Technical Manager) Projection team at the Filmhouse.

People had travelled far and wide to the Filmhouse and some as far away as Dublin to see the “70mm Roadshow” there was quite a lot of local media interest when the Filmhouse announced “Hateful 8” will have a “70mm Roadshow” presentation at the Cinema and a Buzz of social media interest with the screenings.

The Filmhouse Cinema will look forward for future 70mm screenings in the future on the success of the “70mm Roadshow” which over the two weeks and four days had a total of 4,000 admissions.

The next “Hateful 8” ‘UK 70mm Roadshow’ is heading for the Parkway Cinema Barnsley in Yorkshire!.
