Many attempts have been made to make a list of all known films photographed on 65mm negative film. For various reasons these lists are in many cases incorrect. Titles are often missing and blow-ups are sometimes included alas making it flawed. It is not easy to complete a list of large format films because the source information can be incorrect and films are even forgotten. It is easy to include obvious 70mm productions like “Oklahoma!” and “Lawrence of Arabia”; they are both well documented. It is much more interesting to find forgotten short subjects filmed in 65mm and add them to the list.

The 70mm Association Newsletter has cross-checked all information with other lists and sources in order to make this list THE most accurate list yet published. Blow-ups, Technirama & VistaVision, Sovscope 70 and Kinopanorama have not been included. This list is a work in progress and there is still much work to be done about pre-Todd-AO large format films, Super Technirama, CircleVision 360 and many more.

The list of 70mm films includes: Title, principal cinematography format and year (and date of release if available).

P = Parts filmed in 65mm.

S = Short subject.
