 The walking motion picture encyclopedia, Mr. Wolfram Hannemann, is again leading the troops with absolutely stunning introductions. Friday introductions Saturday introductions Sunday introductions Im Namen des Schauburg Cinerama Theaters darf ich Sie ganz herzlich willkommen heissen in Karlsruhe zur bereits siebenten Auflage des „Todd-AO 70mm Filmfestivals“. Für alle, die mich noch nicht kennen und für diejenigen, die mich nicht mehr erkennen, darf ich mich kurz vorstellen: mein Name ist Wolfram Hannemann. Wie Sie unschwer an meinem T-Shirt erkennen können, bin ich sozusagen 70mm-Fan mit Leib und Seele. Wenn ich nicht gerade dieses Festival moderiere, schreibe ich Filmkritiken u.a. für die Stuttgarter Nachrichten und für das monatliche LivePaper der Schauburg und bin seit fast 20 Jahren Geschäftsführer eines Versandhandels für Heimkinomedien. Sie merken vielleicht: Film bestimmt nicht nur mein Leben, sondern ist mein Leben – manchmal sehr zum Leidwesen meiner Frau.  Neben den vielen Filmraritäten, die wir auch an diesem Wochenende wieder sehen werden, freue ich mich wie jedes Jahr auf die vielen vertrauten Gesichter, die Jahr für Jahr unserer Einladung folgen und oft eine langwierige Reise auf sich nehmen, um dabei sein zu können. Denn was könnte schöner sein als gemeinsam im abgedunkelten Kinosaal Filme zu schauen. Eine Leidenschaft, die uns alle, die wir hier sind, verbindet und uns zu einer großen Kinofamilie macht. Natürlich freue ich mich auch über jedes neue Gesicht, das sich uns anschließt. Wir alten Hasen wissen es natürlich schon längst: dieses Festival macht süchtig! Und so werden Neueinsteiger schon bald feststellen: Einmal ist keinmal. | |
 Lassen Sie uns also an diesem Wochenende wieder die hohe Kunst des Filmvorführens so richtig zelebrieren. Und das mit dem Nonplusultra der Kinotechnik. Auch wenn sich viele unserer Kopien aufgrund instabilen Kopiermaterials schon farblich verändert haben, wird es trotzdem eine Wonne sein, diese Filme aus den 60er und 70er Jahren auf unserer 120 Grad gewölbten Cinerama Bildwand zu erleben. | |

 On behalf of the Schauburg Cinerama theatre I welcome you to the „7th Todd-AO 70mm film festival“. Friday introductions Saturday introductions Sunday introductions Variety is the spice of life. And variety is also reflected in this year’s festival program. Whether it is Russian folklore as background to a tragic love story, the story of Jesus as told in the widest of the 70mm processes, whether it is the film which is said to have inspired Bob Kane to create „Batman“, or a non-traditional American western with no heroes, or even an adventure tale inspired by 1001 Nights, whether it is a very loud concert movie, a Shakespearean play, a real musical, a Samuel Bronston epic, five Canadian short films or a bank robber story set in World War II – we have it all! And even more: we feature quite a number of productions which haven’t shown before in this country! And if you ever wondered which film it was that Telly Savalas had his head shaven for for the first time, you will find out this afternoon. | |
 My name is Wolfram Hannemann and it is once again my pleasure to be your anchorman during the festival, insulting the English language with my Swabian accent and trying to get your attention with lots of unnecessary information while our projectionists try to fix up things in the booth. But you should take it as a chance to improve your German. In favor of making my intros more interesting I will not tell the same things in German and English, but will split them between the two languages. So stay tuned. | |
