I am sorry that I could not write you for a long time. I am on a trip around the world for 9 months. I have just started the trip yesterday. I am now in Bombay and probably I will be back home on June 2007. If you are interested, please visit my website. Apologies as it is in Turkish. Maybe you can have a look at the photos.
Meanwhile, I managed to search the subject a little bit more. I personally know the Vice General Manager of the biggest Turkish movie theater owner, AFM. I asked her the details of the past and present situation of 70mm in Turkey. She confirms that there are only IMAX theaters now. They are about to open a new theater now in Izmir. After it is opened, she will provide more information.
That's all I have now. I will try to keep you updated as much as possible. I may search the situation in the countries I visited if I have enough time for that.
