Kinopanorama Productions + Sovscope 70 by Jeffry L. Johnson

"Great is my Country" in Kinopanorama
Otherwise, this Soviet "cinerama," which is being presented here by the Soviet Ministry of Culture in conjunction with the Soviet exhibition at the Coliseum, is a generally handsome and impressive wide-screen-and-color travelogue, notably short on people and propaganda and long on spectacular views.

By Christian Karl
My first movie at the Kinopanorama was "Lawrence of Arabia" and my first in 70mm, a real discovery and experience, in January 1975, followed by about forty more memorable visits (including “West Side Story”- a few times, “El Cid”, “War and Peace”, “The Sound of Music”, “My Fair Lady”, “Lawrence of Arabia” restoration ...) until December 1989 with “Indiana Jones and the last Crusade”.
Kinopanorama Paris Update
By Jean-Noël Grosmenil
The so called "control desk" was the pre-control table to test the SOUND equipement before a Kinopanorama Show (3x35 and 70 with sep mag sound). It was also used to do the intermission from the booth, during the early 70mm years. At the bottom of that desk, located very close to the sound dubbers, there was 18 pre-amplifiers racks. The MAIN theatre control table was removed since 1974, during the new orchestra refit.

Cinerama Impressions From The Dome
David Granadino
The crowd in the Dome on both nights were enthusiastic and surrounded the Cinerama master himself, Dave Strohmaier, during the intermission and after the presentations! I noticed that the crowd for THE BEST OF CINERAMA had more young people in attendance than the night before which made me hopeful that these young people will love Cinerama as much as we "older" ones.
