"Splice Here: A projected Odyssey" is scheduled as 7OMM Warm-Up to the 18th Todd-AO Festival 2025 in Karlsruhe, Germany. If you like projected films in 70mm and Cinerama, "Splice Here: A projected Odyssey" is for YOU!. The film is described as a "Cineramic" roller-coaster ride through the rise, fall and rebirth of projected film. See it on the biggest screen

"A magnificent homage to film!". Douglas Trumbull

"WOW! "Splice Here" is a tour de force for the lost art of motion picture presentation".
Dave Strohmaier

"Rob Murphy's passion for the theatrical movie going experience shines through every frame!". Leonard Maltin

"Splice Here: A Projected Odyssey" is a love letter to film - told through the eyes of documentarian and projectionist, Rob Murphy who begins a childhood quest to find out what ever happened to cinema’s legendary (now long extinct) wide screen film process, Cinerama. Starting in Australia then expanding geographically and thematically, Rob infiltrates a projectionists underground, meeting the great champions of projected film and lesser known characters behind the scenes. We discover how the digital revolution has not just changed the way we now see movies but is becoming a very real threat to how we will remember them

Screening Date: 9. October 2025
When: 14:30 DIGITAL PRESENTATION
Where: Schauburg Cinerama, Karlsruhe, Germany.
Running time: 118 minutes

• Go to 18th Todd-AO Festival 2025
