Mr. Anderson definitely cares about presentation. Picture by Herbert Born Dear Projectionists & Theater Managers, Thank you very much for running the new film, "Phantom Thread". We are very proud of it; excited and anxious to see its release into the world. As the saying goes, “Directors don’t have final cut, projectionists do.” So we hand it off to you…… We are releasing this film in three formats, 70mm, 35mm, and DCP. If there is a problem with any of these presentations at any time, please contact Lisa Bunnell, President of Distribution at Focus Features, and she will help to repair whatever issues may arise. Our most important request is about the Sound. We have mixed this film to industry standards and hope you will play it at the level we intended of 7.0. I realize that this is very hard to do because quite often Trailers and Pre-Show Commercials are mixed too loud. If it’s necessary for you to turn the volume down because of this, can you please remember to turn the volume back up to 7.0 for the Feature Presentation? Our film is dialogue and music driven; there are no loud explosions or gunshots that may give an audience hearing damage so there should be no risk of alienating an audience if the film is set to 7.0. We have included a thumb drive for Pre-Show music if you wish to play it between shows. We realize that this isn’t always possible, but if it is, we appreciate you playing it and think it will add to the overall experience of the film. Thank you for reading.
