Notes:

Studio and private screening room shave not been included.

IMAX and other special venue locales are not included except in cases where such venues could also screen 5/70 prints.

In cases of changes in ownership during the subject timeframe, venues are listed with current or last-known owner (chain).

There are possibly some venues cited in this work that during timeframe being studied no longer possess the ability to screen 70mm because the once-installed gear had been removed and decommissioned or relocated to another venue. The still-open status of these venues and the lack of any confirmation of such a removal situation (or conflicting details) may explain the inclusion.

The information in this article was principally referenced from film industry trade reports, regional newspaper promotion, projector and sound system trade advertisements and installation records, with special thanks to Claude Ayakawa, David Ayers, Don Beelik, Martin Brooks, Steve Guttag, Mike Hensley, Jeffry Johnson, William Kallay, Ron Lacheur, Stephen Leigh, Mark Lensenmayer, Brad Miller, Brian Whitish.

If you believe this article contains any errors or omissions, please consider emailing the author or editor.
