Dave and myself presenting our "Windjammer Gets a Facelift!" show in Olso 2010. Just a word to let you all know that the Kinemathek Hamburg has invited us to screen our digital restoration and reconstruction of "Windjammer: The Voyage of the Christian Radich" (1958) at their Metropolis Kino, on Thursday, May 5, at 8 P.M. This is the entire, 142 minute roadshow version of the original, three-panel, Cinemiracle picture, with entre, entracte and exit music, and of course, now it's in full color. It will screen then as a part of their Norwegian film festival. Dave Strohmaier and myself will host the film, and present immediately before it, at 7:30 P.M., our "Windjammer Gets a Facelift!" behind-the-scenes stop'n'go show. "Windjammer" post card There will be a second screening on Sunday, May 8, tentatively set for 4:30 P.M., however Dave and I will be heading back the U.S. by that time. For either show, we suggest you get there early to guarantee yourself a seat. Our three Oslo screenings last year included sold-out shows. [Sorry if you missed us in Bradford or Aalborg.] Hamburg was the home port of the picture's tragic co-star, the Pamir, so we might attract a large following. A full house in Hamburg might garner further invites to screen the picture elsewhere in Europe, so please come. You'll be humming songs from the soundtrack on your way out of the Metropolis Kino. Although they have not yet updated it for May events, here is the Kinematek's website for upcoming details. We hope to see you in Hamburg.
