Variety’s review noted:
“[Director] Jewison and
associate producer Patrick Palmer made the $5,000,000 film in Munich and
London, shooting in 35mm with a 1.85:1 ratio, later enlarged in
outstanding technical work by Technicolor’s London lab to 70mm,
approximately 2:1 ratio. About 10 domestic engagements will [premiere]
with the 70mm prints with six-track sound, which will add enormous
audience participation and artistic impact to the film.”
